Gabby Rora Holder: Visual and Performance Artist

Gabby has been an artist since childhood, practicing visual and performance arts such as photography, painting, film, and musical performance. A self-proclaimed “renaissance man,” they boast skills as a singer, photographer, writer, poet, director, actor, and model. Fascinated by taboos, her art explores themes of life, death, gender expression, and identity.

Lately, Gabby has been exploring these themes in her darkroom practice. She delves into life and death in her 2024 series, Beyond the Grave, a series that conveys the artist’s connection to mortality through graveside still lives and self portraits.

In Holder’s most recent project, Not the Man, they explore gender expression and investigate how they embody masculinity.
